Cookie policy

1. Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small piece of information that a website stores through your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar technologies that remember preferences or temporary state on your device. This policy refers to them together as “cookies and similar technologies”.

2. Storage used by the current public site

  • Favourites: model identifiers that you add to favourites are stored in local storage. They remain until you remove them or clear the site data in your browser.

  • Favourite selection: model identifiers selected for an inquiry or composite card are stored in local storage. They remain until you change the selection, remove them or clear browser site data.

  • Inquiry handoff: model identifiers carried to the inquiry form are stored in session storage and expire after 30 minutes, on successful submission or when the browser session ends.

  • Confirmation references: after an inquiry or application is submitted, its reference is stored temporarily in session storage so the confirmation page can display it. It is normally removed when the browser session ends.

3. Essential cookies

For ordinary use of the public site, Ascend does not currently set first-party analytics or advertising cookies. Staff who are authorized to sign in to the CMS receive cookies required for authentication, security and session continuity. The administration service cannot function if those cookies are disabled.

4. Google Maps

When the relevant part of the About page approaches the viewport, it loads an embedded Google Maps view. Your browser then connects to Google. Google may process your IP address, device and browser information, referring page, and cookies or similar technologies in accordance with your Google and browser settings. Google’s privacy policy and cookie information govern that processing.

5. Analytics and advertising

Ascend does not currently use public-site analytics, advertising, behavioural targeting or social-media tracking technologies. If we introduce optional technologies, we will update this policy before doing so and provide choices or consent controls where required.

6. Your controls

Your browser settings let you inspect, reject or delete cookies and site data. You can also remove favourites individually or use the site’s “Clear all” action. Blocking or deleting device storage may prevent the site from remembering favourites, selections or confirmation references. Use the controls provided by Google and your browser to manage Google cookies and similar technologies.
